Shop At The Museum
We carry a large selection of local and regional history books and are happy to special order titles related to local or Northwest history. Our gift shop accepts Visa and Mastercard and BCHS members always receive 10% off their purchases.
Donate Your Time…Become A Volunteer
As there is only one part-time paid staff member at the Museum, the contribution that volunteers make with their time is critical to the ongoing operation of the Museum. A small sample of some of the projects that volunteers are currently working on are compiling genealogical records, answering research requests, conducting an inventory of artifacts, working at the front-desk, scanning and cataloging photographs, and indexing the oral history collection. If you would like to join our volunteer staff, please contact Ann at 263-2344 for information.
Donate Your History
The Museum gratefully accepts donations of artifacts and documents that have an historical connection to Bonner County. We also encourage you to contribute your family history related to Bonner County, which can take the form of an interview with a family elder, family documents, photographs, or a written history. If you have a photograph or document of historical interest, but would rather not donate it, we have the equipment to make copies so that your original can be returned to you.
Memorials
Memorial donations are a wonderful way to honor a family member or friend. In acknowledgement of your gift, the Society will send a letter to the family of the person being remembered and it will also be added to the register of memorials in the Museum. Unless otherwise specified by the donor, memorial donations are added to the Historical Society’s endowment fund.
Endowment Fund
The Society has an endowment fund which is managed by the Idaho Community Foundation. Principal added to the fund remains in perpetuity and the interest earned is used to fund annual operating expense and programs of the Museum. Donations to the fund can be made to the Bonner County Historical Society or sent directly to the Idaho Community Foundation with a notation that it is for the Bonner County Historical Society Fund.
Bequests
Please contact your Certified Public Accountant for information about making a bequest to the Historical Society.
