AUTHOR PROGRAM
Friday, May 17th, Sandpoint Library
3:00 p.m.
Free
Anne Whiston Spirn will be visiting our library to talk about her book Daring to Look: Dorothea Lange’s Photographs and Reports from the Field. The Chicago Tribune described it as “…a hybrid work, part essay, part portfolio of photographs, part scholarly catalog of captions and negatives.”
Dorothea Lang’s photos masterfully remind us of America in the 1930s Depression Era. Ms. Spirn has published three other books based upon her work as a renowned landscape architect. This book is also centered on landscape — the landscape of farms, road signs, and the people.
This program is co-sponsored by the Sandpoint Library and the Bonner County Historical Society.
(Did you know the Lost in the 50’s car parade goes right past the library? Come park at the library, attend this awesome program, claim your place on the sidewalk and enjoy the best of Sandpoint.)
