Brass Key Fob
This brass key fob is from Hotel Pend d'Oreille, circa 1910. Even as early as 1903, fancy advertisements decorated the pages of local newspapers of this fine hotel. "Central location, first-class service and reasonable rates. Bar with club rooms in connection". After years of success, the proprietor John Murray, sold the hotel to two other local hotel owners, Jack Gardner and Frank Berry. At that time in 1916, the hotel went under a complete remodel and the new owners guaranteed, "This large hostelry with its excellent location and the beautiful view it affords of the lake, will undoubtedly secure increasing patronage, especially of tourists coming here this summer."
That marks over 100 years of Sandpoint hosting tourists, making hotels a very important part of our town.
