Miss Sandpoint Robe
Long ago, in the days when Edsels roamed the earth, the Sandpoint Junior Club decreed a pageant to be held each spring, where damsels could display their speaking ability, personality, poise, talent, and appearance before the villagers. At the height of the festival, one maiden was crowned Miss Sandpoint to represent the kingdom at feasts and parades throughout the realm. The first Miss Sandpoint (1955) was Princess Carol (Barlow) Windju, daughter of Football King Cotton Barlow and his queen, Johnnie. Also lauded were Miss Congeniality and victors in the Formal, Talent, and Swimsuit competitions. In 1961, Miss Sandpoint ventured far beyond the kingdom to represent Sandpoint at the Miss Idaho pageant, where she wore this velvet cloak.
