Western Electric Telephone
Circa 1930

Alexander Graham Bell did for communication what Henry Ford did for transportation.  The telephone sped local and long distance communication, making the world seem smaller and more accessible.  It also changed the way people communicate with each other on a daily basis.
This wooden wall hanging phone, with a bell apparatus and separate holder for receiver, could be carried about and sat upon a desk.
